Descriptions
Glycerine appeared as clear, transparent, colourless, hygroscopic viscous liquid. It is used as humectants, sweetener, preserver in foods & drinks.
It is one of the most widely used ingredients in drugs and pharmaceuticals as well. Other common uses of glycerine include salkyd resins production, rubber additives, antifreezer.
As a humectant, glycerin draws water from the nearest source. Especially in low humidity conditions, the nearest source of water is the lower levels of your skin.
This can dehydrate the skin, even to the point of blistering, so that pure glycerin needed to be diluted with distilled water before using it on your face and skin.
Glycerin is very common to be used in lotions or other DIY skin care products, it helps prevent or combat dry skin.
If you have dry facial skin, glycerin may help to reduce dryness. Some people also mix glycerin with natural rosewater to make a glycerin toner spray to refresh dry skin.
Storage Keep in a cool and dry place, avoid extreme heat and cold. Avoid direct fire. Exposure to ultraviolet light, especially sunlight must be minimised to prevent quality loss.
